Censorship and regulation

PCC- press complaint commission - Printed newspapers/magazines
self-regulation for the press. dealing with complaints within the term of the editors code of practice about the editorial content of newspapers and magazines. holding editors to account. seventeen members who have no connection with the newspaper. -preventing harassment


ASA- Advertising standard authority 
- across all media- all platforms 
-includes acting on complaints and pro-actively checking the media isn't misleading 

OFCOM- 
We regulate the TV and radio sectors, fixed line telecoms, mobiles, postal services, plus the airwaves over which wireless devices operate.
We make sure that people in the UK get the best from their communications services and are protected from scams and sharp practices, while ensuring that competition can thrive.

Production idea-soap opera rejecting traditional roles- for example working class black male as protagonist with a positive representation
